  • Uploading product file

Hi, I am new to Easycart and my developers have set the cart basics up and I am looking to upload around 3,000 stock lines, so the more I can automate this the easier it will be.
I have exported test data into Excel spreadsheet and am currently creating a template to align data from suppliers to the Easycart layout. Mostly this is self evident or the videos supply the answer.
What I have been unable to identify is the field for assigning a category or more particularly a number of categories to each stock line. Reading the field names hasn't provided any indication which field can be used for this. The test data had categories for colours (*we will sort various ranges of products by colour) but I cant see any field with variable data that could contain this information.
Can you identify this field for me.

    Also .... a related question.
I want to sort by several category options, eg by colour or by product type. I wish to have these two different methods of identifying products on the screen - for our business this makes sense.

Look forward to any help you can provide
    Cheers
    Peter

So the category ID's as well as menu ID's are located in the admin when you go to the left menu and click on categories, it will show you the ID, same with Menu ID's. Now in the export file, you can't really create categories and put products in them... rather the categories are built in easycart -> categories and products attached to them.

Menus work the opposite, you create the menu structure, and then for each product, attach them to a menu. So if you are using the exporter and want the products organized, I wouldn't use categories, but rather the store menu structure to build the menu system, this way you can attach menu ID's to each product in the excel file.

as for building a custom sorter, based on your needs like color or product type, we don't have that ability right now to customize unless we dive into the core files and program things..

Possibilities perform the other, people create the particular food list structure, and for every single merchandise, add the crooks to a food list. And so if you use the particular exporter along with would like products structured, When i might not work with different types, but instead the particular store food list structure to develop the particular food list technique, in this way you are able to add food list ID's for you to every single merchandise inside the stand out document.

in terms of creating a tailor made sorter, dependant on your needs including coloring or perhaps merchandise kind, we all will not have of which potential at the moment for you to customise until we all plunge in to the key data along with plan points..
