  • Easycart Support ignoring our requests !!!

    HI All,

I don't suppose this post will be here for long as it is a negative comment borne sole from the frustration of the ticket system and support's reply.

We do not have active support as we were one of the original customer's who used the Java version and Easycart converted us. We are happy to pay for support however, we do not like being forced to do this.

There is a security hole in Easycart with the 'product enquiry' button / option. For the past two days we have received 1,000 emails from the site ranging from hackers subscribing, registering as users and also requesting product details.

When we raise a ticket with Easycart, all we receive is a standard email as follows. In our hour of need (we have never raised a ticket in the past), we feel that we are being held to ransom to take out support.

This is not what we thought Easycart were about? Josh Jones.

    Rant over...

    Hello:

Sorry you are frustrated... We do in deed provide support for our services. Our older standard edition came with 3 months support, and our new pro and premium editions are 12 months support. After this time you must purchase support if you want a technician to get on your site and assist with your individual needs... that is only fair practice and business. We can not work for free

With that said, you are also not forced to upgrade and your not forced to also buy support. You have the option to figure things out for yourself or to use our many online free resources, like you are doing here (video tutorials, online documentation, community forums).

In terms of a security hole, if you feel you are getting lots of spam throug th e review system, you may wish to disable it. Same with the product enquiry system. We offer a simple email form for customers to use, but you can actually enter your own url link there to a page with a more dedicated form. Maybe a form plugin that is more professional would fit your needs, create a page for it, put in the captcha system and other security systems in place to prevent spam, then paste the url into the enquiry url of your easycart product. For easycart accounts... you can also turn on email verification that requires signed up users to reply to an email. this is in the settings -> accounts.

Again, if you feel you need instant support for matters like this though, and it seems like you felt you did here, then that extra insurance of staying up to date on active support is what you want to get... so in times like this you have someone to respond quickly and even login and help on your site.

    thanks
