Move image zoom over the actual image

Is there a way when an image is hovered over the zoomed image remains in the space of the original image you are zooming in on, rather than on the right covering the other content. It needs to be contained to the image area of the image that is being zoomed on, the zoomed image may not fit neatly in the original image box, but you can move your mouse to zoom in and look as specific parts of the image just to see the detail.

I have attached an image to hopefully visually explain what I am trying to do.
