When I add an advanced option, the default Quantity Slider disappears and I have to use an Advanced Quantity Grid to handle quantity. Is that the way it works, or is there some way to turn on or off the default Quantity slider and still add other advanced options?

The quantity should not disappear with an advanced option set... but if you do add a quantity grid, it will, because that grid is essentially a multi-quantity selection... so there is no need for the single quantity area... but no, regular quantity should still be there. might send me a link to an example product with an advanced option where the quantity disappears.
