Add a buy now or add to cart button to widget?

I have a request to add a buy now button to the widget layout, what is the easiest way to accomplish this?
Using the method from product_details_page does not work as the inheritance seems to not include the button aspects.

We do not have an add to cart button in the widget area. Products have a lot of details with them, and while an add to cart might be easy for a basic item with zero options (just throw the item in the cart with that set price)... it would be very difficult to add an item to the cart that has options, options that change pricing, file upload options, text areas, etc... So while some store owners might be able to utilize a basic add to cart item in a widget, which is nothing more than a picture, as a software shopping system that works with many customers and many needs, we just can't built it into our system that way.

Customers need to goto the product details in case there are lots of options, price changes, etc... then setup the product the want and add to their cart...

Sorry for the delay in response.

I do understand the logic from your side, from the other side; They are adamant that a "buy now" button is needed to indicate that it is a purchasable product and lead into the more detailed purchase screen.

hmm, ya, it's not something we can impliment as an actual add to cart, but we could probably add a buy now button... which is just going to be the same url link the pictures have in our widget sales and multi-product displays... might even be something you could just build within a custom widget area if they allow html code. just build your own small table with a graphic and a buy now button graphic and link it up... would give you more control than relying on us to build something specific.
