Click on product to view details in new tab

Is there a way to configure how a user click on product listing behaves, standard is in same window. We would like to have it opening in a new tab. Is this configurable or do we need to dive into programming?

This would require diving into the template codes to adjust how they operate... I suspect you could make a child template so that you can still update the plugin even. Just need to create that in the -data directory and then get the target='_blank' setup on the product links.
