Creating percentage discounts for different user roles

Hi,

Is it possible to create different percentage discounts for different user roles? It looks like I can put in a different price for individual items in the role pricing. Is there a percent discount that can be applied for the product items as well? I can put the actual discounted price in now that does help to have those different discounts available.

Currently no, we have different pricing for items with user_roles, but not coupons, shipping, etc... we are going to work on continuing efforts in that area, but if you need maximum flexability for 2 different types of users, most are just putting up 2 different stores for those folks as it offers maximum options.

Is this still a requirement - that a second shopping cart is set-up to handle different discount pricing for different roles? We want to sell a subscription that would then allow that subscriber to buy specific items in the shop at a discount. Other subscriptions, gift cards and shipping would obviously, not be allowed - and we would expect that each item in the cart would need to have what roles are allowed discounts on it? Please advise.

Correct, we do not have it so that every item such as discount, shipping, taxes, product pricing, etc... is all split out across different user roles. We currently only have different product pricing for user roles at this time.

If you felt you needed truly different pricing, shipping, discounts, taxes, promotions, coupons, etc. on different users, then it would need to be a different store all together.
