how can we tell a customer to Download PDF instructions for a product purchase.

We are in the process of creating build instructions for one of our products and would like to do the following;
After the product has been purchased and paid for, we would like to send a link in the purchase confirmation for the build Instructions of the product.
If that is not possible can we manually send a link to download the PDF instructions.
Note: these instructions are a downloadable .PDF file and not listed in the shop category because we only want the purchasing customer to get this file.

Is this possible somehow?

I have created the "instructions" download product with zero cost after watching the easycart video for this type of product. It works and places an order in the system but when the customer clicks the "download" option in either the email or in the cart we get a 403 error product (download file) not found, Have manually placed the .PDF in the download directory but it is still not found with a 403 error.
What am I missing?

Cancel all requests - Hosting had the file attributes set wrong. now all working OK
