Product customization

It would be nice to allow attaching freeform text or images with a product order.
Examples of application:
- Allow a client to enter a civic number to print on a plate
- Allow the client to send a custom image to print on a customizable t-shirt

Even nicer would be to allow specifying an allowed text format for a product text customization (regex for example) or image constraints such as min or max width/height or file size.

I agree. We are going to be working on expanding option sets essentially to allow check boxes, radio buttons, text areas, and possibly even file uploads. Currently, the best way to handle is to customize the email confirmation for a product, so if that product requires filling in a custom form, you can link them to there. WordPress uses some great plugins for form building and then you can have unlimited capabilities there to build complex forms for submission, track their order number, get them through standard email, etc...

but we do hope to improve and build this option based system in the coming months.

We have a child based system now, where you copy the email template to a folder in the design section and then it will utilize this custom email template while still retaining the ability to upgrade the plugin:
