You need to add REAL books to your product types. It would then bring up a screen that allows you to enter things particular to books, such as the ISBN, etc.

That worked for me as well, once REAL Books is added as a product type the ISBN and author fields show up correctly. If it still doesn’t appear, try clearing the cache or checking your product type settings.
